This Week: POETRY EXPLANDED and BEYOND GENOCIDE
March 28th, 2008
We get a jump on Poetry Month (April) by talking with editor Rebekah Presson Mosby about a new edition of a much-hailed anthology. It’s called POETRY SPEAKS EXPANDED.
Also, we speak with artist Amy Fagin and filmmaker David Edwards who will be showing their work at the Pioneer Valley Jewish Film Festival on Tuesday, April 1.
Fagin’s illuminated book project, BEYOND GENOCIDE, honors peoples who have been genocide’s victims, past and present. Edwards’ film, Kabul Transit, gives a sensitive portrait of Afghanistan under occupation.
KABUL TRANSIT will screen at the opening of BEYOND GENOCIDE on April 1 at 7 p.m. at Helen Hills Chapel on the Smith College campus in Northampton, MA.
This show airs Friday, March 28 at 4:30 p.m. on WMUA 91.1 FM. The show repeats on Valley Free Radio 103.3 FM on Thursday at 8 AM and on other Pacifica stations around the country. Look here for the podcast for download or streaming on Monday, March 31.
