This Week: THE MAN WHO HATED WORK AND LOVED LABOR and more…
December 17th, 2007
We talk with Les Leopold about his terrific biography of labor leader and environmentalist Tony Mazzochi: THE MAN WHO HATED WORK AND LOVED LABOR. Also, poet and children’s book author Richard Michelson talks about his new book, TUTTLE’S RED BARN.
Mazzochi was the founder of the Labor Party, instrumental in getting the OSHAct and the Clean Air Act passed, and was working closely with Karen Silkwood when she was murdered.
Full disclosure: Like many other idealistic young people, I worked for Tony Mazzochi in the late 1970’s when he was legislative director of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union.
